P80 Forged 80% Lower Receiver – Raw Aluminum
SKU: P80-FORGED-RAW | Price: $49.49
Uncoated. Unfinished. Unlimited Potential.
This is the Blank Canvas for Your Build.
You asked for it, so here it is: our most popular mil-spec forged 80% lower, now shipped to you in its raw, unanodized state. This isn’t a blemish or a second. This is a deliberate choice for the builder who doesn’t want to spend time stripping off a factory finish. It lands on your bench ready for your touch, whether that’s a professional Cerakote job, a DIY rattle-can camo pattern, or a polished showpiece finish. Think of it as the foundation of a truly custom rifle, where the final color and texture are 100% your call.
Everything else is the same trusted forged lower we’ve shipped for years. The same forged 7075-T6 aluminum billet. The same precise mil-spec dimensions. The same broached magwell for smooth, reliable magazine changes. We just skipped the final anodizing step and passed the savings and the creative control directly to you.
Why Choose a Raw 80% Lower?
If you’re on the fence about raw vs. anodized, let’s break it down. An anodized finish is tough and provides good corrosion resistance, but it can be tricky to coat over. Paint doesn’t always adhere perfectly, and if you want a different type of professional coating, the anodizing often has to be removed anyway.
This raw lower eliminates that entire step. It’s prepped for your finish from day one. This is the go-to choice for:
- Custom Coating Applicants: The surface is ideal for professional application of Cerakote, Gunkote, Duracoat, or any other firearm-specific coating. Properly prepped and applied, your finish will be more durable and look better.
- The DIY Camo Artist: Want to spray your own pattern? A clean, raw aluminum surface gives spray paint the best chance to grip and last. Just degrease it thoroughly and start laying down your design.
- The Tinkerer & Machinist: Planning to polish, brush, or otherwise texture the metal itself? Starting raw gives you a uniform base material to work with, no anodized layer to grind through.
- The Budget-Conscious Builder: We shave cost by not applying a finish, and you save time and money on your end by not having to remove one. It’s a win-win.
Important Note: Raw aluminum will oxidize and can develop surface corrosion if left unprotected in humid environments. This lower is meant to be finished. Once you apply your chosen coating, you’ll have full protection. Don’t let it sit in a damp safe or garage for months without protection.
